Jenn Valentyne Provides 7 Ways To Be Happier and Healthier This Year

Spring brings with it the promise of new beginnings. Filled with new life and new growth, it’s the perfect time to embrace a new mindset and refresh your thinking in a way that produces positive outcomes.

The way we think and see the world determines how happy we are. We may not always have control over how life will unfold, but the way we view life’s twists and turns determine how we feel about our lives and ourselves.

It’s time to revitalize your outlook on life by embracing each new moment and living it with purpose. Here are some ways you can begin to focus on positive and nourishing thoughts:

  1. Declutter your mind. One approach is to think about clearing your mind in the same way you clear the clutter from your closet. Make a focused effort to let go of emotional baggage from the past. Letting go of the negative thoughts that no longer serve you is a great way to start.
  2. Start a gratitude journal and write down some of the things you are grateful for Seeing these thoughts in print provides greater insight and helps you identify what is important to you and who you truly are.
  3. Bring more positivity into your life. Try to smile more as you go about your day and look for ways you can be helpful to others. A listening ear, a heartfelt compliment or simply holding the door for someone can brighten your day and give it meaning.
  4. Decorate your fridge, mirror or personal space with inspirational quotes. Sometimes we need reminders that motivate us to achieve our goals or simply to appreciate the possibilities that come with being alive.
  5. Take the time to reconnect with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, Make a coffee date or send a note to let them know you are thinking about them. This takes you away from dwelling on your own problems for a while and opens up some space for happiness to grow within you.
  6. Honour your mind, body, and soul by eating healthy, exercising, and seeing your doctor for regular check-ups. Self-care recharges your batteries and gives you a sense of inner calm.
  7. Get out into nature. Having some quiet time in nature will strengthen your connection to your inner self and help you feel grounded and positive.
