Microblading Toronto

Everything You Need to Know About Microblading

This trendy, semi-permanent tattooing technique gives you fuller-looking, beautiful brows.

Q: What is microblading?
A: Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing, where pigment is implanted under the surface of the skin with a manual, handheld tool instead of a machine. With the hand-drawn techniques of microblading, we’re able to create very realistic, hair-like strokes to fill in your brows and give the illusion of naturally fuller eyebrows. This treatment lasts approximately one to three years.

Q: Is there a minimum age limit for this service?
A: You must be 18 or older for any cosmetic tattooing procedure.

Q: Does it hurt?
A: A gentle numbing cream is used before and during our microblading treatment (known as 3D Feather Brows) to minimize discomfort. Most of our clients feel very little pain, while some experience a small amount of soreness. We take every precaution necessary to ensure your treatment is as pain-free as possible.

Q: What is the healing time for 3D Feather Brows?
A: For most people, the healing time is between seven to 10 days, during which you will experience some redness and scabbing.

Q: How long do 3D Feather Brows last?
A: 3D Feather Brows generally last between one to three years, depending on various factors such as: your skin type, your commitment to aftercare and the amount of sun exposure. Some of our clients visit us every six months for a touch-up, while others choose to get a touch-up every one to two years.

Q: I have oily skin. Does that affect how the 3D Feather Brows will look?
A: Different skin types affect the results of 3D Feather Brows. Oily skin and dark skin tones may experience more fading (resulting in the need for extra touch-ups), and have the potential to produce more of a textured powder effect as the skin’s natural oils and sebum may spread the pigment more than usual.

Q: I have a skin condition. Can I get 3D Feather Brows done?
A: Semi or permanent makeup is not recommended for clients who have skin irritations or conditions like psoriasis or eczema near the treated area. Please consult your dermatologist if you have any specific concerns about your skin type or condition.

Q: How do you choose the eyebrow shape?
A: Your service provider will help you determine the best eyebrow shape and colour depending on your face shape, eye size and skin tone.

Q: How do I prepare for an appointment?
A: Do not drink alcohol or caffeine for 48 hours prior to your appointment. For 72 hours prior to your appointment, do not take Advil or other blood thinners such as ibuprofin, Aspirin, niacin or vitamin E unless medically necessary. Botox treatments should be done two weeks before or two weeks after the procedure. Avoid booking during your menstrual cycle as it can increase your pain.

And be prepared for your brows to look a little red and really dark at first! Don’t fret! The colour will fade by about 20 to 30 per cent.
